Security Council (SC)
Being the tenth anniversary of ITAM’s Model United Nations, the Security Council wishes to extend a most cordial welcome to all the delegates participating in the Simulation. We further greet the delegates engaging diplomatic negotiations during the three days in the Council.
The United Nations Charter states that the Security Council is responsible for the maintenance of international peace and security. Additionally, all its members agree that in carrying out its duties, under this responsibility, the Security Council acts on their behalf.
Considering that the Security Council wishes to be as realistic as possible, a certain Open Agenda debate is presented. Yet, because it is difficult for any delegate to arrive to a debate with an excessive amount of information, therefore, four topics have been chosen. The Chair is counting on its delegates to fulfill their duty in an exceptional debate.

President: Jorge Tuddón, Moderator: Lorena García, Conference Official: Elizabeth Barba
